2020 - Present

University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa (Honolulu, HI)

Keiko began her PhD in Marine Biology in August 2020. Under the direction of Dr. Bob Richmond at Kewalo Marine Laboratory, Keiko will explore the effects of microplastics and their associated-chemicals on coral reef health and reproduction. 

2018 - 2020

Miami University (Oxford, OH)

Keiko earned an M.S. in Biology with an Applied Statistics Certificate in January of 2020. Under the direction of Dr. Craig Williamson within the Global Change Limnology Laboratory, Keiko completed her thesis exploring the effects of dissolved organic matter derived from native and invasive plants on zooplankton growth and survival.

2013 - 2018

Miami University (Oxford, OH)

Keiko earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chinese from Miami University in January of 2018. She was actively involved in the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation and Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. She also went on to co-found the student organization, Students Together Empowering Minorities (S.T.E.M.).
